"To Meet" (会 (かい) 合 (ごう) する, TBA) is Chapter 7 of the Ao Ashi series, written and illustrated by Yūgo Kobayashi and based on a concept by Naohiko Ueno. This chapter was published in the 12^th issue of Big Comic Spirits' 2015 series.

Summary

With the starting eleven being announced, Ashito has made the cut. After telling the good news to his family he makes a group of other members who made it as well to learn about each others' styles. Coach Fukuda reveals that the opponent team is the Youth Team for Esperion. The very team the the tryout members have been aiming for.

Synopsis

The chapter opens on Coach Fukuda revealing the members of the tryout who made it to the next stage to participate in the 11v11 and their positions.

After being excited to advance to the next stage, Ashito calls the store where his brother, Shun Aoi, and mother, Noriko Aoi, work to let them know the good news. Shun congratulates Ashito and the patrons at the store overhear part of the conversation and congratulate Noriko and Shun on Ashito's accomplishments so far. Shun reminds Ashito that since they grew up playing soccer together and he basically taught his little brother how to play soccer, Ashito better not lose and "ruin" his reputation.

We then cut to the field where the Tryout team is warming up. Tachibana is listening to music on the sideline and Otomo is visibly nervous. Ashito decides that since the final test will be an 11v11 it'd be better for the members on the tryout team to get to know each other. Even though he rallied all his courage to say that, the other members walk away. However, Otomo doesn't want to be alone till the match starts so he decides to talk to Ashito. With that, Tachibana, Nakano, Fukatsu, and unexpectedly Kaneda also joins in to find out what style of football each person likes and their own personal preferences while playing.

This is noticed by the coaches with Fukuda specifically looking at Ashtio. Back to the group, Nakano and Otomo say that this may be there last chance to become a professional as it has been said time and time again " Unless you ace the entrance exam [for Esperion] you wont get to the 'Youth' Stage'". Without passing the tryouts, Otomo mentions that they will just play for 3 years at any High School and and that he will do whatever he can to change his future so he has to pass this tryout.

Otomo then comments on Tachibana's special status as he was about to be promoted to the Musashino "Youth" team. Tachibana says that since he felt he stopped growing at Musashino and came here to feel the challenge again.

Tsukishima then calls everyone to gather round as the opponents have arrived. Ashito quickly says to the group that he really hasnt thought as far as becoming a professional and since this is his first time playing such a high level of soccer and that he can't wait to play another match with them.

Finally Fukuda, introduces the opponents, the Tokyo City Esperion's Youth Team.

Highlights

• Ashito calls home and lets Shun know that he passed the first stage
• Tachibana was going to be promoted to the Youth team at Musashino but came to the Esperion tryout as he felt unmotivated.
