"Thinking Power" (
Summary[]
As Assistant Coach Aki Tsukishima describes the next mini-game for tryouts, Ashito Aoi is excited to finally play his a match. However, the game isnt as simple as it seems as Fukuda reveals that there is a certain reason for the 7v7.
Synopsis[]
After Aki Tsukishima explains the rules of the 7v7 match, Ashito is excited as he can finally play football. Unlike Ashito, Ōtomo appears unnerved by the unfair selection between the two teams. A few moments later, Hana returns and asks Fukuda to update her on the trials. She notices that the game is one-sided, as Ashito's team can't break through. Ōtomo then scolds Ashito for not passing back and being selfish. Ashito is visibly angry and does not seem to be taking Ōtomo's advice. After play resumes, Ashito takes notice of Sōichirō Tachibana, who appears to be heading towards goal. He remembers rumours circulating that this year's tryouts were specifically held to test him. Tachibana is tackled by Akinori Kaneda, who gains the ball and starts attacking. Ashito calls for the ball but is instead met with a glare from Kaneda, who himself charges towards the goal but is tackled. Ōtomo encourages Kaneda, who is still glaring at Ashito. Hana appears to take more notice of the big skill gap between the two teams. Fukuda explains that the reason for the gap is to test the players' intelligence rather than their skills.
While the coaches are questioning Ashito's ability, Ashito appears to be thinking. He acknowledges that he's been playing selfishly and realises everyone here has talent. After calming down, he starts running, which delights Fukuda. He calls for a pass from Ōtomo, which he receives. This surprises the coaches, but they are doubtful as Ashito still appears to be not passing the ball.
