Summary[]
The chapter kicks off the First Youth Match, where players aim to impress the coaches and earn a spot on the Youth A Team. Ashito Aoi demands passes from Yūma Motoki but is interrupted when Keiji Togashi makes an impressive long-distance shot, narrowly missing the goal. Tensions rise as Ashito scolds Togashi for his reckless play, and the match intensifies with Ashito’s aggressive pressing and a slide tackle that sets him up for a potential scoring opportunity. The chapter ends with Ashito charging forward, determined to make his mark on the match.
Synopsis[]
The chapters begins with the kick off of the First Youth Match. As all of the players show varying levels of confidence as the kick off occurs. On the sidelines, Nozomi Date and Aki Tsukishima are watching the game taking notes as the players who manage to impress the coaches will be promoted to the Youth A Team. Ashito Aoi and Yūma Motoki start the game and Yūma has the ball. He begins to drive up the field when Ashito demands for Yūma to pass him the ball as he is "the reincarnation of Gerd Miller (even though he isn't dead)." As Sōichirō Tachibana presses Yūma, Ashito once again demands for him to pass the ball. Tachibana presses Yūma with a fervor however Kanpei Kuroda moves up to support Yūma and asks for him to pass. Yūma decides to pass to Kuroda however, Keiji Togashi shoves Kuroda out of the way and drives up the field himself. As he approaches the halfway line of the 7-a-side field he takes a long-distance shot.
The shot has enough power that the Red Team goalie Kengo Myōjin has barely enough time to react to dive across the goal and he still misses the ball. Even then, the ball luckily bounces off the crossbar making a large "CLANG." As Togashi cries out that if the ball had dropped another 5 centimeters, it would have gone in, the rest of the players are standing in shock with the amount of power that was behind the shot. Ashito walks up to Togashi and even though he compliments the shot, he yells at him for shoving Kuroda and tells him to not get carried away. Togashi calmly replies that the only way to make an impact on this 30-minute match is to score a goal and since he is a defender, there isn't that many chances for defenders to shine. Ashito then yells at him saying that is not an excuse and to stick to his position. As the parents and spectators on the side comment on how strong Togashi's shot was and how rude he was to shove his own teammate on the ground, Ayuta Shima asks his goalie, Myōjin, to restart the match. The scene then switches to various members from each team each with their own frantic thoughts of wanting to score or create a chance to score.
Myōjin passes the ball to Jun Marchs Asari. Ashito attempts to speed press Asari, but he calmly passes the ball to Tachibana. As Tachibana receives the ball, he notes that the pass was perfectly to his feet and speedy as well. He says that this skill should be expected of the Junior Youth team of Esperion and that he shouldn't waste this chance and drive up the field. However, Ashito appears and dangerously slide tackles the ball away from Tachibana. As Ashito recovers the ball, he remembers what he just said to Togashi about staying in their own position and now that he has to charge forward and score. As the crowd notices that Ashito broke through on his own the chapter ends with the game being seen from a birds-eye view of a nearby crow.
