Synopsis[]
Coach Tatsuya Fukuda tells Ashito Aoi to convert from a Forward to a Fullback Specialist so he can reach the World Stage. However in the main common area of the Dormitory, both A and B teams are present to read the announcement of which players will be promoted to the A Team and which players will be dropped to the B Team. The following changes are as such:

All 4 players being promoted to the A team are excited to have the chance to be put on the top team. Coach Nozomi Date says that since he couldn't find anyone to exactly fill Kenta Yoshitsune's spot, he will try to fill the void with sheer numbers instead. He ends his message by telling Nagisa Akutsu that he will stop being a Center Back and become a Forward in place of Yoshitsune to which Sōichirō Tachibana and Eisaku Ōtomo are shocked. Coach Nozomi says that even though the 4 promoted players may not participate in matches right away but they should prepared to play for either the A or B team matches. The 4 realize that they are only partially promoted (as in they CAN play in the A Team matches if they need to) but commit to themselves that will prove their worth to become a regular. Ōtomo is miffed that he wasn't promoted even though he had a goal and an assist in the second match but he was even more surprised that Ashito wasn't promoted since he led the B Team to victory in both matches. Tachibana says that Coach Fukuda makes drastic changes to which Keiji Togashi asks them where Ashito is.

Upon protesting his change to a Fullback, Fukuda explains to him his weaknesses in being a forward.
Back in the meeting with Coach Fukuda and Ashito, he barely understands Fukuda's words because he is in so much shock. Fukuda says that being a Fullback is where Ashito is suited and this position switch isn't just a temporary one, but a permanent position switch and he will never be used as a Forward again. He says that in 3 days time, he will count on Ashito to come to practice ready to be a Fullback. As he slowly begins to realize what Fukuda means, he starts yelling at Fukuda that even though he carried the B Team to victory in the past matches, Fukuda is saying that he isn't good enough and switch to being on Defense. Fukuda says that even though he exceeded in his results, it was all thanks to his innate talent which is a great accomplishment but the maximum distance Ashito will go as a Forward is only up to the 3rd round of the National Tournament.

Fukuda tells Ashito that if he refuses to cooperate and switch to being a Fullback, he can leave and Fukuda will find someone to replace him which greatly shocks Ashito to his core.
Ashito begins to crash out screaming at Fukuda that he hates what Fukuda is saying and that he wants to become the World Best FORWARD. Frustrated, Fukuda tells him the exact reasons he will not be effective as a Forward because he cannot maintain possession of the ball and won't be able to start attacks. Ashito tries to interject that he can practice on that, but Fukuda stops him by saying that he nethier has the quick-thinking, nor the ability to reach top speed within 10 meters and that his is true fatal flaw. Fukuda says that he has to acknowledge Ashito's scoring instincts, but ever since he was born fate decided that he wouldn't be a Forward and says that the second he met Ashito back in Futami, he knew that Ashito would excel in the Fullback position. Ashito once again screams at Fukuda for hiding the truth but Fukuda says that if he doesn't want to become a Fullback, he can quit. He says that Esperion isn't a School Football club but a Youth Club and if Ashito won't contribute he will be replaced. As Ashito leaves the office very dejected and crying he walks past Anri Kaidō without even noticing her. Anri is surprised to see Ashito like this and watches him sulk away.
