Summary[]
Noriko packs the rest of Ashito's things but is unable to see him off at the train. Ashito says goodbye to his classmates and walks to the train station with Shun. However, to his surprise, his teammates surprise him at the station and take pictures with him as well. Before Ashito gets on the train, Shun reveals that there is one more bag from their mom for Ashito to open.
Synopsis[]
The chapter begins with Noriko Aoi packing up Ashito Aoi's things for his move to Tokyo for Esperion. Ashito walks in to talk to his mom, but his mom ignores it and just talks to her son about how tall he's grown and she wont bother to pack the clothes that are too small for him. Ashito tries to talk to her once again but she brushes it off and declares that everything is finally packed. She wishes Ashito her best since she won't be able to see him off at the train station. Ashito is still torn though, because they were still unable ot talk about what he wanted to.
Back at Futami middle school, Ashito's teacher makes an announcement to the class that Ashito is going to join the Esperion Football Club in Tokyo and even though most of the student at Futami Middle will be going to high school there as well, Ashito will be going to high school in Tokyo. As Ashito will have to train with his new soccer team as soon as possible, he will be leaving today and unable to graduate with the rest of the students. The teacher reveals that Ashito wanted this announcement to be made so he could see his friends' faces one more time. As Hikaru Kogure, Sawa Tamano, Nanami Shiima and the rest of the class have varying expressions of shock. Ashito is still smiling at them.
The scene cuts to Ashito and Shun Aoi, walking along the beach, where Shun asks Ashito why he kept secret that he was leaving today to his classmates. Ashito reveals that he isn't good with depressing stuff and he doesn't even want to see his old soccer club guys. He doesn't want to see their sad faces and Shun reassures Ashito that if he is missing anything to tell Shun and Shun will send it to him straightaway. Shun comments on the past 6 months on how Ashito was only able to talk to the Esperion staff over the phone and that he should especially thank Hana Ichijō as she took hours out of her time to reassure Shun and Noriko about everything, taking great detail to explain it all. He also mentions that Noriko is very thankful for her as well.
Ashito then sullenly states that he was never able to directly talk with mom and how she always seemed to avoid talking as well. Shun also comments that its strange that their Mom didn't come to see Ashito off. Ashito then realizes that theres nothing he can do about it, but even if he has to crawl to reach his goal, he will most definitely become a pro. He has also already decided that he will definitely leave Ehime smiling. However, once Ashito reaches the train station, he sees that his old Futami soccer club as well as Nanami and Sawa are waiting for him. They ream Ashito out for trying to leave without saying bye properly and it was annoying to try to get to teh train station before Ashito. They reveal that the teacher allowed the Soccer club members to properly send off.
They knew Ashito was lying about only wanting to say bye in the classroom and now that they're here, they want to take photos with him. After a quick photoshoot, the train arrives and Hikaru tells Ashito that they want to play soccer with Ashito again no matter where that may be. Ashito once again thanks his old club for letting him play soccer and due to that, he promises he will become the best professional player in the world. Right before Ashito boards the train, his brother stops him and hands him one more tote bag, which was a late gift from their Mom. She told Shun to tell Ashito to only open the bag, after he is comfortably sitting on the train.
