"Line of Sight" (
Summary[]
As Ashito Aoi attempts to emulate Haruhisa Kuribayashi’s "Killer Pass," he misfires twice, frustrating his teammates and drawing laughter from the opposing fans. Yūma Motoki observes Ashito’s field vision, noting its potential despite his poor ball control. During halftime, Coach Tatsuya Fukuda questions why the B Team players are focused on the coaches instead of their opponents, encouraging them to concentrate on the match. Coach Nozomi Date warns Ashito to treat passes as tools for achieving goals and threatens to sub him out if he wastes more opportunities. Ashito reflects on this advice and realizes that Kuribayashi’s pass is not extraordinary but a means to an end. With a renewed mindset, he resolves to prove himself in the second half. Fukuda notices Ashito’s shift in attitude and watches him closely as the game resumes.
Synopsis[]
As Ashito closes down on the opposing team's(Kurume Daiichi High) final third, he attempts to emulate Haruhisa Kuribayashi's pass to fellow forward, Kio Fujimiya. As Anri Kaidō and Tatsuya Fukuda mirror each other's faces of shock at what Ashito is doing. However, Ashito's pass is hit way too hard and completely flies over his intended mark. As he tries to figure out what he did wrong, behind Anri, Yūma Motoki says out loud that Ashito's ball control just sucks. Ashito says that he spent the entire week to figure out how to copy Kuribayashi's "Killer Pass" and trained extra hard as well. Lost in thought, teammate Shūto Kuwata has to snap Ashito back to reality and tell him the ball is coming to him. As he receives the ball, he finds Kanpei Kuroda slipping behind two defenders on the left flank. Ashito attempts the "Killer Pass" as a through ball for Kuroda but he once again hits it way too hard and it is kicked out-of-bounds.

As Ashito mishits his pass once again this time to Kuroda, the Kurume Daiichi fans start laughing at Ashito for failing in such a spectacular way.
As he once again tries to figure out what he did wrong, the Kurume Daiichi fans start laughing at Ashito for ruining the Esperion attack twice and inadvertently helping Kurume Daiichi. Ashito turns around to look at his team but they all have varying degrees of angry expressions at him for wasting two potential attacks. On the sidelines, Yūma asks what type of advice Anri gave to Ashito and trying to find out if she told him to copy Kuribyashi's pass. He laughs since both attempts at the pass ended up at the spot but Ashito's intention of where he meant the ball to land was interesting. He also says that Ashito's field vision is interesting since he wanted to send the ball to where his teammates were loosely marked and where his opponents weren't expecting them to be. As he says that if Ashito improved his ball control, he could be moved up to Team A, Anri wishes that Yūma woudln't talk to her as much.

Ashito realizes that Coach Nozomi's words about a pass being a pass is correct and that he had a wrong mindset about the "Killer Pass."
On the bench, Coach Fukuda notices that many of the B Team players on the field keep glancing at the Coaches as they play. Come half-time, Fukuda says that Coach Nozomi Date will be in charge of any tactical decisions so he only has one thing to say to the team. He asks them why they keep looking at the Coaches especially after they make plays in the game. He asks that since their promotions to Team A will be riding on this match, are they actually wondering if they are playing correctly. He ends his speech by saying that their opponents are not the Coaches but their opponents are standing in front of them. His speech causes the B Team to calm down. As Ashito thinks that he wasn't looking at the bench at all, he wants Fukuda to watch him because he WILL be promoted to the A Team today. Coach Nozomi snaps him back by saying that if he he wants to try to emulate Kuribayashi's styles of passes, he should examine every movement he makes and that passes are just a means to the goal. He then threatens Ashito by saying that if we wastes another chance like earlier, he will be subbed off. The rest of the B Team is in shock though as they realize Ashito was trying to pass even though it was far off.
The Second Half restarts and Ashito has the ball, as he reflects of Coach Nozomi's words, he understands that Kuribayashi's "Killer Pass," isn't anything special, but it is just a pass. Coach Fukuda recognizes this shift in Ashito's mindset and sits up straighter to watch him play.
