Summary[]
With one minute remaining in the match, Akutsu defends the ball from the Tryout team free kick, as the Youth team is starting another counterattack, Ashito has seemingly predicted where the ball will land. As Nakano stops the counter, Ashito has the ball again for his own counterattack and suddenly has a top-down vision of the entire field.
Synopsis[]
The chapter opens with 1 final minute remaining in the Tryout v Youth team match. Eisaku Ōtomo takes the free kick and aims for the top right corner. He adds just enough topspin to the ball so it dives down rapidly. As the ball is on track to bury itself in the back of the net, Nagisa Akutsu appears and clears the ball away with his head. Ōtomo is shocked by how high Akutsu jumped to clear the ball.
The ball moves to the feet of Yōichi Kiriki who sends a long ball down the field to Jun Marchs Asari start a counterattack. However, Ashito Aoi is already running back to defend much to the shock of Akutsu. Asari is startled by the pressure of Ashito and takes a bad first touch. Hana Ichijō from the sidelines accurately says that Ashito killed the Youth team's momentum of attack. Back to Ashito, he steals the ball from Asari which causes Akutsu to scream at Asari for making such a dumb mistake when he was so close to breaking into the opponent's territory.
Akutsu is shaken by how quickly Ashito reacted to the counter and how fast he dropped back to defend. He recounts that Ashito was directly next to Ōtomo and by the time he(Akutsu) cleared the ball, Ashito was already sprinting back. He says that Ashito must have had perfect timing to drop back and just ran back to Asari and there is no way Ashito could have predicted that the ball would go there.
Ashito suddenly has a top-down perspective of the entire field where he can see everyone.
Asari is able to regain possession from a battle with Ashito and makes a break for the Tryout's team box by knocking the ball forward and then trying to run up to catch it. Ashito realizes that if Asari manages to bring the ball to his own 18-yard box, there wont be any time to mount another attack. As everything seems hopeless, Junnosuke Nakano appears and manages to get to the ball before Asari can catch up. Nakano realizes that if Ashito can still play with all his heart even though most of the Tryout team has given up he will still give it his all for Ashito even though he knows that this is as far as he will make it. Ashito makes eye contact with with Nakano and understands what Nakano wants to do and goes back up the field towards the Youth team goal. Nakano plays a through ball to Ashito who then controls it.
The scene switches to a crow on a nearby branch watching the game who starts to fly over the field. As the crowd tries to offer advice to Ashito to pass it, Ashito suddenly has a vision of a top-down birds-eye perspective of the field where can see players, allies and enemies alike. Ashito suddenly darts to the left side with the ball. The crowd, Coach Fukuda and Nozomi and the assistant coaches are shocked at his sudden movement since Ashito effectively cornered himself on the left flank. Ashito manages to pull in both Akutsu and Yūma Motoki to defend him. However, Akutsu realizes that with Yūma's movement, he has left a massive gap on the field. Ashito is able to recognize this and the chapter ends with Ashito passing a long ball across the field.
