"Clock Strikes" (
Summary[]
With Tachibana receiving Ashito's pass, he then passes to try to assist Ōtomo but is blocked. Ōtomo tries to shoot but is then blocked by Akutsu. Ashito picks up the loose ball and then scores on the Youth team.
Synopsis[]
The chapter begins with Ashito Aoi being defended by Nagisa Akutsu and Yūma Motoki . Ashito then plays a ball across the field from the left flank towards the Youth team goal. The crowd realizes that the Youth defenders all moved towards the left flank and thats why Ashito played his ball directly into the right side of teh 18-yard box. There seems to be no one to receive Ashito's pass until it lands directly at the feet of Sōichirō Tachibana. With Tachibana's perfect control he has only one defender, Yōichi Kiriki, to beat before he is 1 on 1 with the goalie, Enshin Akiyama.
Tachibana realizes that when Ashito made his sudden sprint to the left sideline, the center backs and the rest of the Youth team moved to press Ashito which caused a massive opening on the right side. The crowd is shocked to see Tachibana playing as the second striker since that job was assigned to Akinori Kaneda. Coach Fukuda understands that Tachibana saw Kaneda's inactivity and stepped up to take the position. Tachibana remembers his email from his Musashino coach to give it his all and is deciding to risk it all to score.
Ashito side-volleys the ball and rifles it into the back of the net.
Tachibana then sees Eisaku Ōtomo running to his left shaking off his defender, Makoto Shimizu. Tachibana and Ōtomo make eye contact and Tachibana passes it to Ōtomo. Directly in front of the goal, Ōtomo aims to shoot it in the bottom left corner. Enshin Akiyama dives to save it but fails to make the distance. Suddenly, Akutsu appears and save the ball with his leg. Akutsu screams out to the Youth team to kick the ball out-of-bounds just for the final whistle. As the ball bounces towards the penalty spot, Akutsu is in shock as Ashito is at the ball.
Ōtomo, Tachibana run over and hug Ashito and they all let out a roar of delight over what they just did.
Ashito side-volleys the ball and smashes it to the back of the net making the score (4-1). The combined trio of Ōtomo, Tachibana and Ashito have finally blasted a hole through the Youth team and their clean sheet. Ashito kneels down in shock as Ōtomo and Tachibana run up to him and hug him. The 3 of them let out a combined scream of delight after what they just did as the referee calls out the final whistle.
